The annual convention known as SDCC(San Diego Comic Con) is upon us once again. Many different companies and panels will be held to show off their upcoming projects for the rest of the year and for the upcoming year. This year, Marvel Studios and Disney will not be holding a panel due to not having enough material to bring to the show. However, there are still tons of other companies coming to show off their upcoming projects. Here are my predictions for what company is going to show at this year’s SDCC.

Warner Bros. Pictures

.Aquaman

.Shazam!

.Wonder Woman 1984

.The Meg

.The Nun

.IT: Chapter 2

.Mowgli

.Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald

.The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part

.Godzilla: King of the Monsters

With Marvel and Disney not being at the show this year, Warner Bros. Pictures is going to be the spotlight of the show. For starters, James Wan has confirmed that the first trailer for Aquaman will premiere at the DC panel. Strong rumors are indicating that a teaser for Shazam! Will be shown as well. It is highly possible considering that filming has wrapped and they are now in post-production. As for Wonder Woman: 1984, I don’t think we will see anything from this because they are filming right now. But, they could always present more first look images; particularly more of Wonder Woman and a look at Cheetah. Same can be said for IT: Chapter 2, which has also begun filming too. They too can also present first look images of the adult version of the Loser Club or of Pennywise. The trailer that I am the most excited and hoping to see is Godzilla: King of the Monsters. I am a huge Monsters fan; particularly a fan of the Godzilla characters. According to the production, the film will see the arrival of Mothra and King Ghidorah, which are rivals to Godzilla. Hopefully, they show a trailer for this film.

Sony Pictures

.Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse

.Venom

.Alpha

.Slender Man

.Goosebumps 2

.Holmes and Watson

Even though Marvel Studios won’t be at the show, Marvel will still be represented through Sony Pictures. Sony has confirmed that there will be a panel for their upcoming animated film; Spider-Man: Into The Spider Verse. No word if they will be a new trailer, featurette, images, etc. It also makes sense to bring Venom to the show as well; considering the fact it is a comic-book movie and that the film comes out in October. At a marketing standpoint, it would make perfect sense to resent more footage or images for the upcoming solo film. Also, I believe we will get a brand new trailer for Slender-Man. We got the first trailer a couple of months and would make sense to release a new trailer at SDCC.

20th Century Fox

.The Predator

.Alita: Battle Angel

.X-Men: Dark Phoenix

.The New Mutants

Fox has confirmed that The Predator will have a panel and will most likely present a brand new trailer. I also believe that Alita: Battle Angel will present a brand new trailer as well alongside The Predator. The oddballs from 20th Century Fox and for this year’s show is X-Men: Dark Phoenix and The New Mutants. With multiple delays, reshoots and the Fox/Disney merger, will they present any form of footage at the show? Between the two, I believe that X-Men: Dark Phoenix has a higher chance to present footage than The New Mutants. But, as of right now, we will just have to wait and see.

Paramount Pictures

.Bumblebee

.Overload

.Top Gun: Maverick

.Pet Sematary

The most obvious one, if it is not already confirmed, is Bumblebee. With Hasbro coming to present all of the merchandise, don’t be surprised if John Cena or Hailee Steinfeld come to support and promote the movie. I have a theory for Overload. What if they release Overload the same way that they released The Cloverfield Paradox during the Super Bowl? It is highly possible and can confirm that this is indeed another Cloverfield movie. As for Top Gun: Maverick and Pet Sematary, I believe they both won’t present anything this year because of both of them currently filming right now.

Universal Pictures

.Halloween

.The Grinch

.Mortal Engines

.How To Train Your Dragon 3

.Glass

All of these movies are most likely to present footage; especially M. Night Shyamalan's Glass. I believe that this will be the big surprise of the show. Glass is the follow up to both Unbreakable and last year’s Split. Also, coming off the heels of the first trailer, Halloween will also make a big appearance as well.

San Diego Comic Con 2018 goes from July 19th to July 22nd.
