Dunkirk Is One Of Christopher Nolan’s Best Films Yet

One of the best directors working today in Hollywood is Christopher Nolan. He has made some amazing films such as The Dark Knight Trilogy and Interstellar. His storytelling and sense of direction in his films make his work gripping and interesting to watch. Now, he returns to the big screen with his latest film, Dunkirk.The film stars Harry Styles, Tom Hardy, Mark Rylance and Cillian Murphy. Is the film any good? Dunkirk tells the story of The Battle of Dunkirk, which is set in the year 1940. The story is told through three different perspectives. One of the them being told on land, the other in the sea and the other in the air.

The film is beautifully told and is taken in a direction that you don’t really expect. As i have mentioned, it is told through three different perspectives, which is a very nice change for storytelling and works so well for this type of movie.

Also, it has amazing cinematography. For those who don’t know, the film was filmed in IMAX in 70mm frame, which widens the picture and the scope. It worked so well when it came to the battle scenes especially the dogfight scenes in the air.

I also loved that there wasn’t a lot of dialogue in the film. It mainly focuses on the concept of how brutal and scary war can be rather than focusing on the characters that are involved in the battle. For that reason, it makes you feel like you are actually there with these characters and you feel every shot and movement.

The sound design is in my opinion, one of the best aspects of this film. They used practical effects in favor of just simply creating sounds, which makes the film more personal and gripping when you watch it. Because of the sound design,i can say that this is the best film experience i have had this year.

The only real negative i have is the fact that there isn’t a lot of dialogue between characters. It’s completely understandable as to why there isn’t a whole lot. But, i would have liked to have heard a few more lines from certain characters.

Other than that, Dunkirk is one of the best films i have seen this year so far and is easily the best film experience i have had this year. However, it’s not my personal favorite Nolan film. My favorite Nolan film is still The Dark Knight. But, this film is definitely my second favorite Nolan film. Don’t wait til the film comes out on Blu-ray. Watch this on the biggest screen possible in the theater and don’t miss out on an amazing experience.
