When it comes to Paramount Pictures, the one franchise that keeps them alive is the Transformers franchise. This franchise has grossed more than 1 billion dollars for the company and is because of Michael Bay. Now Bay is back with the fifth installment in the franchise, Transformers: The Last Knight. This will mark the last Transformers film for both Michael Bay and Mark Wahlberg. The film stars Mark Wahlberg, Laura Haddock, Anthony Hopkins and Isabela Moner. Is the film any good? Let’s find out.

Transformers: The Last Knight tells the story of Humans being at war with Transformers and hunting them down. Cade Yeager(played by Mark Wahlberg) will embark on a quest with an Oxford professor(played by Laura Haddock), an old English lord(played by Anthony Hopkins) and Bumblebee to save the world from a mysteriously evil Optimus Prime.

The Last Knight offers some amazing visuals and good looking robot characters. Michael Bay knows how to deliver great effects and fight scenes in his Transformers films. Also, i like that the film was shot mostly in IMAX cameras because it brought the action scenes to a bigger scale.

Other than that, The Last Knight is a massive trainwreck in everything else. None of the actors brought good performances to the film. Mark Wahlberg looked like he just wanted to get a check and just get the hell out of there. Laura Haddock and Isabela Moner did try to bring good performances. But, they both just fell flat and boring. Anthony Hopkins surprisingly was the most annoying actor in the entire film. He tried to play his character in a comedic fashion and it didn’t work at all.

Furthermore, the story and writing is so bad that it actually makes Revenge Of The Fallen look better in comparison. The story goes all over the place and doesn’t have a clear plot to follow. There’s one plot that follows Mark Wahlberg’s character and the other that follows Optimus Prime. The film doesn’t know which plot it wants to follow and the writing makes it so much worse.

Lastly, the film’s aspect ratio is beyond horrendous. When the film presents an action scene, it goes into full IMAX format, which is how it should be. However, during those action scenes, the aspect ratio keeps going back and forth from the IMAX format to the regular format. It got very annoying when watching the film and hurt the movie experience as a whole.

In the end, The Last Knight is not just the worst Transformers film so far. It is, in my opinion, the worst film of the year so far. I can go on and on about how much i hated this film. But, i think you know how i feel up to this point.

Transformers: The Last Knight Overall Score: 3/10=30%

Reasoning: Writing is bad, Acting is terrible and Aspect ratio was super annoying
